Psychological safety is the shared belief that people can speak up, ask questions, share ideas and acknowledge mistakes without fear of embarrassment or punishment.
When psychological safety is present, teams are better able to communicate openly, learn from challenges, contribute ideas and work collaboratively.
This practical two-hour online session explores the foundations of psychological safety and the everyday behaviours that influence whether people feel safe to contribute, raise concerns, ask for help and learn from mistakes.
Drawing on evidence-based research, including the work of Dr Amy Edmondson and Google’s Project Aristotle, participants explore practical tools and approaches that can be applied within school teams.
The session is interactive and combines discussion, reflection and practical activities.
