Blended Youth Mental Health First Aid Online Course

The Blended Youth Mental Health First Aid Course will teach you how to assist adolescents who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based Action Plan. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
Mental health problems covered:
• Depression and anxiety
• Eating disorders
• Psychosis
• Substance use problems
Mental health crises covered:
• Suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
• Non-suicidal self-injury
• Panic attacks
• Traumatic events
• Severe psychotic states
• Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use
• Aggressive behaviours.
Note: This course is not a therapy or a support group
Blended Mental Health First Aid Courses are an alternate delivery pathway for the 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid Course (for adults assisting young people). Blended MHFA Courses include two components:
Course Component 1
A self-paced eLearning component (approx 4-hours). It contains 10 modules. You must complete the eLearning before component 2. You get an eLearning certificate on completion.
Course Component 2
An Instructor-led component using face-to-face or video conferencing (3 sessions of 2.5 hours each including set up time).
Course Preparations:
Component 1 and 2 - On registration of the course, we will send you a eLearning voucher code and we will send a coupon for the manual. On completing Component 1 we will send you zoom details. (Price $310)
On completion, the participant can take a test and get an accredited Youth Mental Health First Aid certificate.

Accidental Counselling Course will provide you with practical skills; whether you are talking to someone going through a difficult time, having relationship issues, not coping with life, or feeling helpless. This course will help you respond in a helpful and appropriate way.
You will learn how to help someone identify their strengths, that assist them to manage their problems better, and easier. You will learn how to reframe their thinking to give them a different perspective on something that previously painted a negative picture.
