Mental Health Trends in The Family
The mental well-being of numerous Australians was affected by the abrupt unemployment, reduced social interaction, increased remote schooling, etc.; one of the most affected was the youth.
The National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing conducted in 2021 found that an estimated 1 in 5 (21%) Australians aged 16–85 experienced a mental disorder in the previous 12 months.
As mental health awareness has become more prevalent and understanding of mental health is growing, people are more likely to seek help and talk openly about mental health concerns within their families. Families would be doing more activities that can help develop positive wellbeing, and adults would be learning more about how to effectively communicate with youth in terms of assisting them to achieve a healthy mental wellbeing.

Mental Health Trends in The Workplace
There are several reasons why mental health issues can arise in the workplace such as stress, job insecurity, bullying, poor management practices, etc. These issues greatly impact not just the employees but as well as the company itself.
Preliminary research shows that Australian businesses lose over $6.5 billion each year by failing to provide early intervention/treatment for employees with mental health conditions (Source: Humanrights.gov.au)
Mental health crisis in the workplace affects productivity levels, increased absenteeism and turnover, etc. As such, more companies adopt mental health programs to counter these effects. We will be seeing more companies implement different types of mental health activities that will help lessen stress, conflicts, etc.
One of the activities that companies can do for the employees is to conduct mental health online training.
At Training On The Go, we offer different mental health online training such as wellbeing series (improve interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, and self-awareness), etc. These trainings are conducted online so it’s convenient for employees to undergo mental health training.
