Every young person deserves to thrive – and sometimes, they need a little extra support. The Blended Youth Mental Health First Aid Course equips you with the knowledge and skills to be the difference for an adolescent facing a mental health challenge.

Gain insights into adolescent development, understanding the emotional and social changes teenagers undergo. The course introduces a 5-step ALGEE action plan, offering a practical framework to recognise signs, listen non-judgmentally, provide help and support, encourage professional assistance, and maintain a crucial connection. With scenario practice conversations, you’ll apply your knowledge to simulated situations, boosting your confidence in assisting young people.

Mental health crises covered:
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
- Non-suicidal self-injury
- Panic attacks
- Traumatic events
- Severe psychotic states
- Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use
- Aggressive behaviours.

Blended Mental Health First Aid Courses are an alternate delivery pathway for the 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid Course (for adults assisting young people). Blended MHFA Courses include two components:
Course Component 1
A self-paced eLearning component (approx 4-hours). It contains 10 modules. You must complete the eLearning before component 2. You get an eLearning certificate on completion.
Course Component 2
An Instructor-led component using video conferencing 3 sessions of 2.5 hours each.
